In the event of a conflict between the Terms of Service and this Policy regarding the processing of personal information, this Policy controls. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to the collection, use, and disclosure of your information as described in this Policy. If you do not agree to this Policy, do not access or use the Service.

2. Information We Collect
2.1 Account Information You Provide. 2.2 Google Sign-In. If you sign in using Google Sign-In, Google provides us with your name, email address, and profile picture, based on standard “openid,” “email,” and “profile” permissions. We do not request access to your Gmail messages, Google Calendar, Contacts, Drive, or any other Google data. Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
2.3 Information Collected Automatically. When you use the Service, we automatically collect: (a) your IP address and browser or device information (user agent), recorded when you log in, for security and session management; and (b) your activity within the Service, such as quiz sessions, answers, bookmarks, study streaks, and progress statistics.
2.4 Cookies. We use a single, secure cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use third-party advertising trackers, analytics pixels, or marketing cookies.
3. How We Use Your Information
3.1 Purposes. We use the information described in Section 2 to: (a) provide, operate, and improve the Service; (b) create your personalized study experience and progress tracking; (c) generate AI-assisted coaching summaries (see Section 5); (d) send you essential Account-related communications, such as password resets and account notices; (e) process payments through our payment provider; (f) protect the security and integrity of the Service; and (g) comply with our legal obligations.
4. How We Share Your Information
4.1 No Sale of Personal Information. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
4.2 Service Providers. We share limited information with service providers who perform services on our behalf, including:
- (a) Hosting and Database: our infrastructure providers store your Account and study data so the Service can function.
- (b) Payment Processing: our payment provider processes your subscription payments. We do not store your full payment card number; that information is handled directly by our payment processor.

- (d) AI Coaching Feature: when you request an AI coaching summary, we send your first name and aggregate study statistics (such as category accuracy and study streak) to our AI provider to generate the summary. We do not send your email address, full name, or individual answer history to our AI provider.
4.3 Provider Restrictions. Each service provider identified in Section 4.2 is contractually permitted to use your information only to perform services on our behalf and not for its own independent purposes.
4.4 Other Disclosures. We may also disclose your information: (a) to comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; (b) to protect the rights, property, or safety of Preplift, our users, or others; or (c) in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of all or substantially all of our assets, in which case your information may be among the assets transferred.
5. AI-Generated Content
5.1 AI Content. Parts of the Service use artificial intelligence to generate coaching messages and summaries (“AI Content”). AI Content may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date, and should not be relied upon as professional, medical, educational, or certification advice. See our Terms of Service for the full disclaimer regarding AI Content.
5.2 No AI Model Training. We do not use your personal study data to train artificial intelligence models, including large language models. We may use de-identified and aggregated data derived from use of the Service that cannot reasonably be used to identify you to analyze, improve, and maintain the Service.
6. Institutional Users (Universities and Schools)
6.1 Institutional Access. If you access the Service through a university, school, or other institution that has purchased access on your behalf, your institution may have access to certain information about your use of the Service, which may include your progress, performance, completion, and engagement data, as set out in our agreement with that institution. Your institution’s own privacy policies may also apply to your use of the Service, and your rights to access, manage, or delete your Account may be governed by the agreement between Preplift and your institution.
6.2 Individual Subscribers. If you subscribed to the Service on your own, and not through an institution, your information is not shared with any institution.
7. Data Retention
7.1 Retention Period. We retain your information for as long as your Account is active. If you delete your Account, we retain your information for a thirty (30)-day grace period, after which it is permanently deleted, except for limited records we are required to retain by applicable law, such as transaction and tax records. Inactive Accounts may be retained for as long as lawfully required before being purged.

8.4 Additional Rights. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable law to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information. Because we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, certain opt-out rights recognized under some state privacy laws may not be applicable to our processing. To exercise your rights, contact us at legal@preplift.com. We will respond to verifiable requests within the time required by applicable law.

11.1 U.S. Processing. The Service is operated from the United States, and the information we collect is processed and stored in the United States.
12. Changes to This Policy
